contemporary fine dining restaurant, serving up a sophisticated blend of familiar flavour combinations with modern, inventive twists.

 

 This is a fine dining restaurant had to be completed within a restricted budget and short timescale. The design team were happy to take the a challenge.

- A large Gothic corridor to adds a sense of  magnificence, 

- Cornicing and panelled walls with antique mirrors and faux marble inserts add to the traditional feeling.

- Seating is in a  traditional in style but given a contemporary look.

- Tables are a dark wood veneer and flooring a neutral silvered oak vinyl.

Unbelievable Non-Photoshopped Body Modifications

Surrealism comes in many forms and can often be difficult to define but one common ability that spans the works of almost all surrealist artists is the power to represent the oddities of one's wildest imaginations and pass it off as real life. We know that having a mouth on the back of your hand is unusual, yet one Japanese university student that goes by the name Chooo-san confuses us all into mistaking her body mutilating art for real appendages and additional mechanics in one's body, transforming the model into a mutant or cyborg. What's most remarkable about the artist's work is that there is no digital editing involved. Everything is hand-painted.

Chooo-san first began exploring her talents at hyperrealistic illustrations on her own body, doodling eyes on the back of her hand during breaks from school. Over time, the hobby evolved into a bigger project, inviting other test subjects to offer their bodies as canvases. Simply by using acrylic paints and her given talent, the young artist manages to modify normal faces and body parts into mutated figures featuring several distorted sets of eyes, mouths, and even a compartment for batteries in one's arm (with the additional flesh-tone prop serving as the case, which can be seen, below). Chooo-san has also expanded her artistic experimentation to edible objects like apples and oranges, dramatically changing their outward appearance.

3D printed jewelery for those with an adventurous architectural soul.





My jewelry objects mimic ancient architectural elements activating the space surrounding the body and altering the viewers perception of the wearer. My work has replaced the traditional embellishments of jewelry objects with the details of traditional architectural form. The objects have become jewelry that have defined architectural space around the body, altering our perception of the figure.

Architecture & Spatial Inquiry

Their creative output is informed by their dedication to independent research in structural typologies and the visual arts. The spaces, objects and buildings resulting from their studio process establish new territories that surprise and alter perceptions. Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo are professional architects and artists who utilize unconventional architectural systems and new media to explore issues of spatial perception. They are the principals and founders of the Seattle architectural and installation art firm Lead Pencil Studio and the 2008 recipients of the Prix de Rome in architecture.

about creating a unique design for a cheap piece of ceramic in order to add a significant aesthetical and economic value to it.
